Woodchip Cars

FreightCar America has applied its BethGon twin tub design to a gondola for use in the municipal waste and woodchip markets to provide increased payload hauling capacity. This car can be configured with or without a roof for municipal waste or other high volume, low-density commodities.

This high-capacity car is a rotary dump gondola that combines our one piece cold-rolled center sill and our industry leading tub design. This car features higher capacity and a lower center of gravity than other cars of this type. FreightCar America's gondolas continue to be proven stable and reliable.

Our woodchip car designs are also available in a hopper car that can be custom configured with one of FreightCar America's custom door operating systems.
