Johnstown America appoints manufacturers representative for México

Johnstown, Pennsylvania, April 22, 2002 - FreightCar America announced today that it has appointed Rolando De Luna as its manufacturers representative for México. Based in México City, De Luna will have the responsibility for sales of Johnstown America freight cars and components to customers in México. De Luna has 40 years' experience with Méxican and U.S. Railroads, leasing companies and suppliers.

Ed Whalen, Johnstown America's Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales, was pleased to have De Luna represent the company: "Rolando's extensive knowledge of the Méxican market and relationships that have been developed over many years will be a great asset as he represents Johnstown's products in México."

"I believe, with my experience, I will be able to help railroad customers in México acquire quality freight cars and components from Johnstown America," De Luna said. "Johnstown manufactures new cars and can also supply existing equipment for sale or lease. I know that better equipment can help many railroad operations in México become more profitable,"De Luna added.

De Luna has been associated with firms such as ACF Industries, California Tank Car Line (now Joseph Transportation), GATX Mexico, Grupo FYL (partially owned by Progress Rail) and most recently National Castings de Mexico in various management and sales positions.

Born in Monterrey, Mexico, De Luna has international roots with family in the United States, Spain and Italy. He was educated in Monterrey and the U.S., with his professional education from Colegio Inglés, Monterrey. He also has MBA degrees from Tecnológico de México and the University of California, Berkeley. His wife, Susana, and two daughters reside in the México City area.
